It is my honor to be appointed by the Fairfax County Board of
Supervisors as the At-Large Principal Representative to the Athletic
Council for a 2-year term. I will represent the interest of the badminton
community in Fairfax County; and bring my badminton expertise to the
      Council.

This appointment is important for two main reasons. Badminton had
been under represented in Fairfax County for so long; and, there is lack of
knowledge in badminton in the governing body. My presence at the Council
      addressed both.

For years, I have been working very hard to solidify the availability of
badminton to the community. In 2002, I addressed the Athletic Council as a
guest to push for the inclusion of badminton as a supported sport in Fairfax
County. As the result badminton is included in the new space allocation policy.
The badminton community has grown enormously since then.

There is still work to do. For the next two years of my tenure, I will
      push for the followings:
      1.  To have badminton at community centers available to the public.
      2.  To get space at community centers on weekends for youth training.
      3.  To start transforming badminton courts to standard size in FCPS.

Qualify of life is important to everyone, and badminton is a key to
      badminton lovers.
