Location: Gunston Community Center at 2700 S. Lang Street, Arlington, VA 22206
Direction: Take Virginia Shirley Hwy - 395 Exit 7 to South Glebe Road. Curve left to Giant
shopping center. Behind Giant is soccer field, behind soccer field is Gunston.

Qualifications:
1. Participants must be able to observe basic badminton rules and doubles scoring system.
2. VA, or MD, or DC players.
Event: Equalizer Doubles - Pairing A+D, or B+C players by lottery to equalize strength.
Recognized Levels: A, A/B, B, B/C, C, C/D, D (A being the strongest, D the weakest)
Format: Double Elimination (guarantee 2 matches). Matches are best 2 of 3 15-point games.
Consolation match is 1 21-point game.
Prize: Open - Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Consolation - Trophies for 1st and 2nd
Strength Level Guideline & Adjustments:
A player: Season tournament players consistently reach second round in Open A events.
B Player: Advanced club level players.
C Player: Average club level players.
D Player: Does not possess the skill of smash or drop shots, or is a beginner
Strength Level Adjustments Allowed (*See note below):
1. Senior (40+) A,B level player may take adjustment down 1/2 level.
(example: a 40+ B level player may take adjustment to B/C level)
2. Women A,B level player may take adjustment down 1/2 level.
3. Junior Player may take adjustment down 1 level.
* No double take is allowed in adjustments. Adjustment is not imposed. Participant should
do the self-adjustment in good faith.
Tournament Fee:
$12 (includes sport drinks, lunch: cheese pizza, veg fried rice and chkn lo-mein)
Registration and Payment:

2. On the cheque write player's name and player's original & adjusted strength level. OR
3. Pay by paypal to account "clement.chan@evergreensports.net"
(Make sure player's name and original & adjusted strength level are clear)
Registration Deadline: August 3.
Draw Date: August 5.
Refund Policy:
Notification of withdrawal must be made by email to clement.chan@evergreensports.net
before August 5 to get full refund.
Note:
1. Tournament official reserves the right to adjust player level to complete pairing process.
2. Limit to 32 teams(64 participants). It is First completed Registration, First Serve.
3. Once draw is made, you and your partner cannot play without one another. Please show
up for your partner.
